How to prepare a China shipping quote brief
A practical checklist for a clear logistics enquiry, from product information to the delivery responsibilities you need reviewed.
Describe the actual shipment
Start with the product description, intended use, quantity and destination. Add supplier locations and the expected cargo readiness window. If you have several products, identify each one rather than describing the whole shipment as general goods.
Share carton counts, outside dimensions and gross weights when available. Mark estimates clearly and update them after packing. Explain whether collection, consolidation, storage, export handling or destination delivery is part of the request.
State the commercial responsibilities
Identify the buyer, seller and proposed Incoterms® rule with the named place. ICC explains that these rules allocate responsibilities and certain costs and risks in B2B delivery. Ask the parties to confirm the term that actually belongs in their sales contract.
List the origin and destination services you want priced, and ask what is excluded. Request separate clarification of customs duties, taxes, insurance and destination charges rather than assuming they are part of a freight figure.
Request a documented scope review
Ask the provider to confirm product acceptance, required documentation, route options and the conditions attached to the quotation. Compare offers against the same product, packing and service brief.
A quote request does not reserve carrier space or confirm a booking. SANA reviews the proposed products, documentation and service scope before confirming what can be arranged.
Review your shipment requirements
Share the products, destination and working brief so SANA can review the scope with you.
